About this site
Playa de la Arena sits on the west coast of Tenerife, near Puerto de Santiago and Los Gigantes in the Canary Islands. This part of the coastline is volcanic, with dark sand beaches and rocky shoreline shaped by the island's basalt formations, and the site lies within reach of the boat traffic that serves the Los Gigantes cliffs area. The wall here is a beginner dive to around 12 metres, and divers have reported cuttlefish, octopus, parrotfish, stingrays, and wrasse along the volcanic rock.
