Pointe a Vache sits off Terre-de-Bas, one of the two main islands of the Iles des Saintes archipelago south of Guadeloupe's Basse-Terre. This part of the Saintes is characterised by rocky volcanic points and channels running through the small island group, with dive operators typically based on Terre-de-Haut running boats out to sites around both islands. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 25 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported lobster, moray eels, sea turtles, and even whales passing through the area, though sightings of the larger animals are occasional rather than routine.
