Poison Reef

Poison Reef lies off the Rivière du Rempart district on the northeast coast of Mauritius, in the southwest Indian Ocean, where fringing reef gives way toward the open water. It's a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 18 metres. Divers have reported leaf scorpionfish, moray eels, and scorpionfish here, and venomous fish have also been noted as a hazard on the reef, so care around the bottom and rocky crevices is worthwhile.
