About this site
Ponta do Urso sits on the coastline of Porto Santo, the smaller island of the Madeira archipelago in the Atlantic off the northwest coast of Africa. The point lies along the island's volcanic shoreline, a short distance from the main town of Vila Baleira. The site is a beginner dive reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres. Divers have reported barracuda, damselfish, octopus, parrotfish, triggerfish, and wrasse around the point.
