The HMS Prince Regent is a historic warship wreck resting on the bottom of Lake Ontario near Kingston, Ontario. Built at the Royal Military College of Canada's predecessor site at Point Frederick, the vessel was constructed during the War of 1812 as part of a British naval shipbuilding program intended to control Lake Ontario and defend Upper Canada against American forces. After the war ended, the Prince Regent was abandoned along with the other warships built at the Kingston shipyard and eventually sank.
Responsible diving of this wreck is encouraged under the stewardship of a local shipwreck protection organization, whose moorings help divers access the site with minimal impact. Divers are asked to support preservation and responsible diving practices at the site.
