Kingston sits at the eastern end of Lake Ontario, where the lake narrows into the Thousand Islands and the St. Lawrence River begins, an area with a long history of shipping and shipwrecks tied to the town's harbor and the Kingston Basin. The Museum Wreck lies here in a maximum of about 15 metres of water and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have also noted navigation challenges and poor visibility at the site, so it's worth keeping orientation and buoyancy in mind despite the shallow, approachable depth.
