About this site
Puerto Morelos Reef sits off the town of Puerto Morelos on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, part of the Mesoamerican Reef system that runs along the Caribbean coast just south of Cancun. The area falls within the Arrecife de Puerto Morelos National Reef Park, which protects a section of this reef line close to shore. It's a beginner dive over a reef bottom, and divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, lionfish, snapper, and wrasse around the site.
