About this site
Picudas lies off Playa del Carmen on the Caribbean coast of Quintana Roo, part of the Yucatan Peninsula's Mesoamerican Reef system. Dive sites along this stretch are typically reached by short boat rides from Playa del Carmen's marinas out to the reef line running parallel to shore. The site tops out at around 12 metres, making it a shallow reef dive, and divers have reported angelfish, damselfish, parrotfish, reef sharks, sea turtles, and stingrays here.
