About this site
This dive site off Ireland's rugged Kerry coast offers dramatic underwater scenery with steep walls, rocky outcrops, and abundant marine life. Strong Atlantic currents bring nutrient-rich waters, attracting schools of pollock, wrasse, and occasional basking sharks. The rocky reef teems with colorful anemones, sponges, and crustaceans. Depth ranges from 5 to 30 meters, with visibility often exceeding 15 meters. Puffin Island's sheltered location provides calmer conditions compared to nearby open-water sites. Keep an eye out for seals that frequent the area. Suitable for intermediate to advanced divers due to variable currents.
