Punta Arena Canyons lies off Punta Arena on Ambergris Caye, in Belize District, and is typically reached by boat from San Pedro along the barrier reef fringing the caye. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 30.5 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported patches of red algae with abrasive edges along the canyon walls, and a tunnel section where darkness closes in completely.
