About this site
Punta de La Sal lies off Gran Canaria in Spain's Canary Islands, out in the Atlantic off the northwest coast of Africa. The reef site reaches a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is generally considered an intermediate dive. Divers here have reported a wide range of species, including angelshark, Atlantic damselfish, barracuda, bastard grunt, Canary damsel, Eastern Atlantic trumpetfish, European parrotfish, garden eels, grouper, moray eels, ornate wrasse, sea turtles, and triggerfish, along with occasional sightings of hammerhead sharks, manta rays, and tuna.
