About this site
Punta Estrada sits at the entrance to Academy Bay on the southern coast of Santa Cruz Island, close to the town of Puerto Ayora in the Galapagos archipelago. The point marks the channel that boats use to reach the harbor, with the volcanic shoreline typical of this part of the islands. The dive itself is a beginner site over a reef bottom, reaching a maximum depth of around 13.9 metres, and octopus are commonly found here.
