About this site
Punta Sur sits at the southern point of the Baja California Sur peninsula in Mexico, where the Gulf of California meets the Pacific. The reef here tops out at a maximum depth of around 6 metres, making it a beginner dive on paper, though the current can run strong and is worth respecting. Eagle rays are a regular sight over the reef, and divers have also reported barracuda passing through.
