About this site
Ras As Sikkan lies along the Musandam Peninsula, the rugged headland of Oman that juts into the Strait of Hormuz between the Gulf of Oman and the Persian Gulf. The area is known for its steep limestone cliffs dropping straight into the sea, with dive sites typically reached by boat or dhow from towns such as Khasab. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 35 metres, and divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, and trevally passing along the wall. Strong current has also been noted at the site, so conditions can pick up depending on the tide and time of dive.
