About this site
Redbait Reef lies off the Western Cape coast of South Africa, in the cool, nutrient-rich waters of the southern Cape where Atlantic and Indian Ocean currents meet near the tip of the continent. It's a shallow site, with a maximum depth of around 9 metres, and rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported cuttlefish on the reef, adding to the temperate reef systems typical of this stretch of coastline.
