About this site
The Rita Zovetta was an Italian cargo steamer that ran aground on the reefs off St. David's Island, Bermuda, in 1924 while trying to reach Baltimore. The wreck now lies broken across a reef slope, with sections ranging from shallow water down to around 20 to 25 metres, making it accessible to a range of divers though the deeper, more broken stern area suits those with more experience. It sits among Bermuda's northeastern reef system and is known for its scattered structure, encrusted machinery, and the fish life that gathers around the wreckage. Bermuda's reef wrecks like this one are popular boat dives out of the St. George's area.
