About this site
The Ruby E is a retired US Coast Guard cutter sunk as an artificial reef off Point Loma, near San Diego, California. She rests upright on the sand in roughly 24 to 40 metres of water, making her a deeper wreck dive typically done by boat out of San Diego. The hull is largely intact and encrusted with growth, attracting rockfish and other cold water species typical of the Southern California coast. Because of the depth and the cooler, often limited visibility conditions common to this stretch of coast, it is generally considered a dive for those with some wreck or deep diving experience.
