About this site
The Stephen Whitney wreck lies off the Irish coast in the area around County Cork's southern shoreline, in the vicinity of the Calf Rock and Bird Islands near Baltimore. It sits in shallow water with a maximum depth of around 10 metres, making it a beginner-friendly dive. The site takes its name from the ship itself, an American vessel lost in the area, and the shallow depth allows for relatively long bottom times.
