West Calf Island is one of the Calf Islands off the coast of County Cork, lying near Roaringwater Bay in the southwest of Ireland's Munster province. The surrounding waters of this stretch of West Cork are dotted with small islands and skerries, typically accessed by boat from harbours along the Cork coastline. Divers have reported strong currents around the site, so timing a dive here with slack water is worth considering. There has also been a report of a hammerhead shark in these waters, though that sighting is far from typical for this part of the Irish coast.
