About this site
Sakamau lies off Bangka Island, a small island north of the Sulawesi mainland near Manado, in a stretch of water known for its volcanic coastline and coral-fringed shores. Dive operators in the area typically run boats out from Bangka or the nearby Likupang coast on the northeastern tip of North Sulawesi. Divers here have reported a mix of reef fish and macro subjects, including blackspotted puffers, Bleeker's, greenblotch, pacific bullethead and palenose parrotfish, along with blue Linckia sea stars, Loch's chromodoris and dusky nembrotha nudibranchs, hookcheek dwarfgobies and redmargin shrimpgobies.
