About this site
Sakiyama Oki no Ne (崎山沖の根) is a boat-dive pinnacle off Sakiyama on Iriomote Island in the Yaeyama Islands, Okinawa, with a maximum depth of 18 m and an average around 10 m. It is a big-fish drift dive, and when conditions call for it the boat anchors before the drift begins, so novices can take part. Dogtooth tuna and barracuda school in the shallows, with spring giving the best chance of encounters. Slight current; from beginner/novice level.
