Sargazos sits within the Arrecife de Enmedio reef system off Anton Lizardo, on the Veracruz coast of the Gulf of Mexico. This area forms part of the Sistema Arrecifal Veracruzano, a cluster of reefs reached by boat from the small fishing communities around Anton Lizardo.
