About this site
Secca Del Papa is a submerged reef off Tavolara Island, near Olbia-Tempio on the northeastern coast of Sardinia. This stretch of water, close to the granite bulk of Tavolara, is reached by boat from the Olbia area and is known for its rocky seabed formations. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 24 metres and is generally rated an intermediate dive. Divers have reported Mediterranean rainbow wrasse, ornate wrasse, and painted comber moving over the rock, along with sunset cup coral, violescent sea whip, yellow cluster anemone, and both yellow and white gorgonians decorating the reef structure.
