About this site
Where Jacques Cousteau built Conshelf II in 1963 — the underwater-living experiment whose remains (including the submarine "hangar") still sit on the reef. Beyond the history, the reef's south plateau is a renowned shark dive, with schooling grey reef and scalloped hammerhead sharks holding in the current off the drop-off. Remote and liveaboard-accessed, with strong current on the plateau; an advanced dive.
