About this site

Shark Point lies off Gili Trawangan, the largest of the three Gili Islands off the northwest coast of Lombok in West Nusa Tenggara, within the channel waters between the Gilis and the Lombok coastline, reached by short boat trips from the island's dive operators. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 52.5 metres and is rated a beginner dive, with light current and generally great visibility, though divers should be aware of stronger currents, particularly reported around the new and full moon. Marine life here is abundant and varied, with reef sharks, eagle rays, napoleon wrasse, bumphead parrotfish, barracuda, and turtles regularly seen, alongside groupers, snappers, sweetlips, moray eels, and octopus on the reef. Divers have also reported hammerhead sharks, manta rays, mobula rays, mola mola, whale sharks, and even seahorses and nudibranchs at the site, though these sightings are less consistent.
