About this site

Shark Point is a popular reef dive site located east of Gili Trawangan, Indonesia. The site is structured across three distinct slope levels at 18 m, 20 m, and 24 m, each dropping down to a sandy area below, with a maximum depth of 50 m. The slopes are covered with soft and hard corals throughout.

Marine life at Shark Point includes reef sharks, white-tip reef sharks, turtles, napoleons, schools of trevally, and manta rays on occasion. The site is considered a favourite among experienced divers for its shark and ray activity.

A minimum Open Water Diver certification is required. Diving in the morning is recommended. Currents can be strong, particularly around new and full moon phases, and the site is susceptible to waves when conditions are not ideal, so divers should be aware of pressure changes from wave action and deep-water exposure. Water temperature ranges from 28–30°C, and the site can be dived year-round.
