About this site
Shark Point lies along the coast of Timor-Leste, on the island's stretch fronting the Ombai-Wetar Strait between the Banda and Timor Seas. This part of the coastline is dotted with small dive operations working out of Dili and nearby coastal settlements, taking advantage of the steep drop-offs typical of the region. The reef here reaches a maximum depth of around 51.7 metres, though it is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported barracuda, lionfish, octopus, snapper, and trevally around the reef.
