Shark Reef

Shark Reef Marine Reserve sits in the Beqa Channel off Beqa Island, south of Viti Levu, Fiji, and is the site of the well known bull shark feed dives run out of Pacific Harbour. Divers commonly encounter bull sharks along with grey reef, whitetip, tawny nurse, and occasionally tiger sharks, drawn in by baited feeds conducted by local operators who helped establish the reserve. Depths at the feeding areas run roughly 10 to 30 metres, with divers positioned behind coral bommies while sharks circle in open water. Given the presence of large sharks in a controlled feed setting, it is typically run as a guided dive suited to divers comfortable with the setup rather than a technically demanding dive in itself.
