About this site

Beqa Island lies off the southern coast of Viti Levu, Fiji, separated from the mainland by Beqa Lagoon, an area protected by an extensive barrier reef. The waters around Beqa are reached by boat from towns such as Pacific Harbour, and the lagoon is well known within Fiji's dive tourism for its network of reef passages and channels. Within this area, the Cathedral site reaches a maximum depth of around 19.8 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported groupers, nurse sharks, and trevally here, along with occasional sightings of bull sharks and tiger sharks.
