About this site

Shark Reef Marine Reserve sits in the Beqa Channel off the southern coast of Viti Levu, Fiji, and is one of the country's best known shark dives. It was established as a marine protected area through a partnership between local villages and dive operators, with a portion of diver fees funding conservation and community programs. The site is known for reliable sightings of bull sharks and tiger sharks, often drawn in by baited dives run by operators from Pacific Harbour, and nurse sharks have also been reported cruising the bommies. Depths typically range from around 10 to 30 metres across a series of bommies and channels, and the dive is rated advanced given the presence of larger sharks and the need for close operator control during the feed.
