About this site
The Shofu Maru lies in Coron Bay, off Busuanga Island in Palawan's Calamian group. It was a Japanese vessel sunk in September 1944 during the American carrier air raid on the Japanese fleet sheltering there, one of several wrecks that now make Coron a well known wreck diving destination. The site sits among other Japanese-flagged wrecks scattered around the bay and is reached by boat from Coron town. It is rated a beginner dive, making it accessible to divers still building experience with wreck sites.
