Silva Point

Silva Point lies along the coast near Galle, on the southern tip of Sri Lanka, an area shaped by the reefs and rocky outcrops typical of this stretch of the Indian Ocean coastline. Galle itself is a historic port city, and diving here is generally accessed by boat from the harbor or nearby coastal towns. The reef reaches a maximum depth of around 30 metres and is rated an advanced dive. Divers have reported a good range of reef fish over the site, including fusiliers, sweetlips, and several surgeonfish species such as the striped and yellowfin surgeonfish, along with butterflyfish, triggerfish like the lagoon and orangestripe varieties, sergeant majors, rabbitfish, and tawny hermit crabs working the bottom.
