Sonesta Reef lies off the coast of Aruba near the small islands close to Oranjestad, an area popularly known as Renaissance Island for the resort that operates there. The reef sits within the calm, sheltered waters on the island's leeward southwestern side, typical of the dive and snorkel sites reachable by short boat trips from the capital.
