About this site
South Carysfort Reef sits off Key Largo in the upper Florida Keys, near Carysfort Reef Light, one of the reef lighthouses marking the shallow coral tract along this stretch of coast. The area is part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and is reached by boat from Key Largo marinas. The site has a reef bottom and reaches a maximum depth of about 24.4 metres, with the dive rated beginner level. Divers have reported angelfish, eagle rays, and snapper on the reef here.
