About this site
South Corner lies in the waters off Palawan in the Philippines, south of the main Coron area, reaching a maximum depth of around 40 metres and rated an advanced dive. Down currents are a known hazard here, and divers have also described challenging surface conditions, strong currents, and washing-machine-like turbulence at times. The site has a reputation for pelagic encounters, with divers reporting sightings of hammerhead sharks, reef sharks, manta rays, thresher sharks, and even whale sharks, alongside barracuda, grouper, snapper, sweetlips, sea turtles, anthias, and wrasse.
