About this site
SS Margit and MV Odile are wrecks located off Birgu, on the southern side of Malta's Grand Harbour area. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 22 metres and is rated an advanced dive, with visibility generally poor and a silty bottom around the wreckage. Divers have reported boat traffic as a hazard here, along with the reduced visibility and unstable silt, so care is needed near the bottom. Nudibranchs have also been spotted on the wreck. Birgu's harbor waters have long served as a base for shipping and naval activity, which accounts for the presence of sunken vessels in the area.
