About this site
Only a day before the Pacific grounded, the Starucca stranded firmly about 10 miles east of Grand Marais. Two of her crew reached shore and alerted the Deer Park lifesavers, who rescued the remaining crew. Portions of her cargo of general merchandise were salvaged before she went to pieces. Lies in about 4.6 m; sank 1888.
