About this site
Lambay Island lies off the coast of north County Dublin, in the Irish Sea, and is the largest island off the eastern Irish coast. Sunk Island Bay sits along its shoreline, a stretch of water reached by boat from harbours such as Rush or Skerries on the mainland. The site reaches a maximum depth of around 15 metres over a rocky bottom, with strong currents making it an advanced dive. Divers have reported a cave here along with drifts, exposed seas, and strong tides, so conditions can turn demanding quickly. Scorpionfish and wrasse have also been spotted among the rocks.
