Superior Producer

The Superior Producer is a cargo freighter that sank in 1977 just outside Willemstad harbor on Curacao, reportedly while overloaded and listing before it went down. It now sits on a sandy bottom close to shore, regularly reached as a boat dive from Willemstad, with a maximum depth around 30 metres and rated an advanced dive. The hull, around 70 metres long, is largely intact and encrusted with sponges and coral growth, and divers have reported barracuda, eagle rays, and grouper around the structure along with the option to penetrate parts of the interior. Reported hazards here include current and strong surface currents, boat traffic from the nearby shipping lane, deep entry into the wreck, and an exit that involves a ladder that can be slippery. Given the depth, the current, and the penetration routes inside the hull, this is generally treated as a dive for those with wreck experience rather than a first timer.
