About this site
Surprise Reef sits off the parish of Hanover on Jamaica's northwest coast, near the town of Lucea. This stretch of coastline faces the Caribbean Sea and is dotted with reef formations reached by short boat trips from the shore. The site is a beginner dive with a maximum depth of around 6 metres, making it a shallow, easy reef to explore. Divers have reported angelfish and parrotfish here as well.
