About this site
Swami Rock is a dive site on the coast of Sri Lanka near Trincomalee, marked by the rocky headland from which it takes its name. It is a wall dive over a rocky bottom, reaching a maximum depth of around 15 metres, rated a beginner site with generally good visibility. Divers have reported encounters with crocodilefish, lionfish, sea turtles, stingrays, barracuda, grouper, parrotfish, and reef sharks here, and fishing boats have also been noted as a hazard in the area.
