About this site
Tackle Box Canyons off Ambergris Caye features dramatic swim-throughs and narrow canyons carved into the reef. Schools of grunts and snappers hover in the coral-lined passages, while eagle rays often glide overhead. The site's steep walls drop to sandy patches where garden eels peek out. Currents are mild, making it ideal for intermediate divers. Sponges and sea fans add vibrant color to the limestone formations. Depth ranges from 40 to 70 feet, with excellent visibility. Night dives reveal octopuses and lobsters emerging from crevices.
