About this site
The coordinates given place Taiei Maru in the Coron Bay area of Palawan, near Dicoayan, a region known for its concentration of Japanese shipwrecks sunk during a 1944 American air raid. Coron town serves as the usual jumping-off point for boat trips out to the wrecks scattered through these waters. This site reaches a maximum depth of around 50 metres and is rated a technical dive. Divers have reported frogfish, ornate ghost pipefish, and seahorses along the wall here.
