About this site
Tawala Sanctuary is a stretch of reef along the Tawala barangay area of Panglao Island, part of Bohol Island in the Visayas region of the Philippines. Panglao's south coast is known for its network of dive sites reached by short boat rides from Alona Beach and nearby resorts. This site sits over a reef bottom with a maximum depth of around 20 metres and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported butterflyfish, clownfish, frogfish, nudibranchs, and parrotfish here, making it a good spot for those interested in smaller reef life alongside the usual reef fish.
