About this site
The Aquarium sits on the reef shelf off La Romana, on the Dominican Republic's southern Caribbean coast near the approaches to Santo Domingo and Boca Chica. It is a shallow site, with a maximum depth of around 12 metres over a reef bottom, and is rated a beginner dive. Divers have reported Atlantic blue tang, Atlantic sergeant majors, and bar jacks moving over the reef here, along with pufferfish and seahorses tucked among the coral.
