About this site
The Big Blue sits off South Bimini, at the western edge of the Bahamas bank across the channel from North Bimini and a short boat ride from Alice Town and the island's marinas. The surrounding waters drop quickly from the shallow bank into the deep blue of the Straits of Florida, a feature that gives several local sites their name and their draw for divers heading out from Bimini's operators. The Big Blue itself is rated a beginner dive, making it an approachable option among the area's more dramatic drop-off sites.
