About this site
The Canyon lies off the Aran Islands in County Galway, on the Atlantic-facing coast of Connacht in western Ireland. The islands sit at the mouth of Galway Bay, exposed to open ocean swell and known generally for rocky reef terrain and cold, clear Atlantic water. Divers exploring this reef have reported lobster tucked into the rocky ledges and nudibranchs among the reef life.
