About this site
Tiger Harbour is a dive site off Fuvahmulah, an isolated atoll island in the southern Maldives that sits apart from the country's main atoll chain. Fuvahmulah's outer reef drops into deep oceanic water close to shore, which is part of why the island has become known for encounters with larger pelagic species. The site sits over a reef bottom to a maximum depth of around 10 metres, though it is rated technical rather than a straightforward shallow dive. Tiger sharks are a confirmed presence here, giving the site its name and its reputation. Divers have also reported barracuda, jacks and amberjacks, leaf scorpionfish, moray eels, reef sharks, snapper, trevally, and even whale sharks passing through.
