About this site
Tojima (塔島) is a boat site 5 minutes from Nakagi in Minamiizu on the southern Izu Peninsula, Shizuoka, open year-round with a descent buoy. Four large reefs extend offshore with soft and hard coral, channels and overhangs, over a bottom of sand and boulders; maximum depth 33 m, average around 15 m, from novice level, with some current. The site is dived for big animals, including pelagics, turtles, schools of eagle rays, longtooth grouper, boarfish, Japanese bullhead sharks and banded houndsharks, and occasionally hammerhead sharks and ocean sunfish.
