About this site
Treasure Hunt is a muck dive site off Timba in Sabah, on Borneo's eastern coastline within the wider Semporna dive area of Malaysia. It reaches a maximum depth of around 12 metres and is rated an advanced dive despite its shallow profile. Divers have reported batfish, frogfish, lionfish, and sweetlips over the sandy, silty bottom typical of this style of diving. The surrounding region is better known for its reef and island sites, but this spot draws divers looking for smaller, camouflaged subjects instead.
