Tug 2

Tug 2 is a tugboat wreck off Exiles at Sliema in Malta, about 250 metres north of Exiles. She worked in Valletta's Grand Harbour and was scuttled in June 2013 as an artificial reef. She was first sunk on the sand parallel with the reef, and a storm in October 2016 pushed her against the reef, which makes her easier to reach from the shore.

The wreck is about 30 metres long and lies at 22 metres, with the lower deck and bow at 20 to 22 metres. Small penetrations are possible, with an interconnected engine room and wheelhouse. It is a shore dive, roughly a 15 to 20 minute swim from the entry point, and you need a certification to 18 metres, with Advanced Open Water recommended to explore the lower deck and bow.

Nudibranchs and flatworms are found on the wreck. On the swim out, moray eels, cuttlefish and octopuses live on the rocky parts of the reef, flying gurnards and stingrays rest on the adjacent sand, and sea hares appear in the shallows near the entry.
